Off the Course

Ian Baker-Finch is not only a world class player on the course, but off the course too. After his retirement in 1997, Ian decided to use his knowledge of golf and love of the game in sports television. Not only has he worked for numerous Australian television networks as a revered golf analyst, but he has also worked for well-known US networks such as ABC and ESPN. In 2007, Ian decided to join the CBS golf team on their coverage of the PGA TOUR, where he covered prestigious golf events such as The Masters and The PGA Championship.

In addition to his 15 years in sports television as a golf analyst, Ian also takes his love of golf to whole new level by becoming a highly sought-after golf course designer. His group, Baker-Finch Design, has created some of the most gorgeous golf courses around the world, including the famous “Desert Course” at Arabian Ranches in Dubai. Ian often describes his work designing that course a proud moment in his expansive golf career.

Ian’s passion for the game of golf is constantly pushing him to share it with the world. He’s involved in numerous charities across the globe, as well as serving as a Director of the PGA Tour of Australasia.
